I honestly don’t know where the time goes, can’t believe the year is coming to an end so soon!. Been busy with a million projects, not so much uni work and my new found favourite sport Pilates which to my surprise involves a lot of breathing and cat postures. I’ve been meaning to share these illustrations for Amelia’s Magazine for a while now, more coming soon!
The first one is my take on Matthew Williamson‘s exhibition at Somerset House, you can read the article online here.

I never think of mentioning it but here’s a bit of inspiration/research for the collage above. Using Williamson’s own garments to create the triangular shapes I had a bit of a play with the background pattern very much inspired by the composition of this 1957 fashion shot from My Vintage Vogue (right) which has great scans from, you guessed it, vintage fashion magazines, can’t recommend it enough.

Another pattern I had a lot of fun with, this illustrates the article on the London cycle hire scheme (aka Boris Bikes, Boris Johnson being the mayor of London for those of you not familiar with his mug) available online here. It’s a very interesting article and gives a few tips on cycling around the city which can be a bit (a lot) intimidating at times.

Two variations of the bike pattern, I went for the contrasting orange/blue for the final piece.
